Infestation
Food stores have been rapidly depleted both due to sharing with the villagers in Nohedes, and for unknown reasons (they seem to be dwindling faster than expected; is someone pilfering?).
The sick and the dying – 2 men are down very suddenly very ill. Intellego corpus indicates poison of a sort. Something unhealthy ingested.
Investigation – They find Bad meat, Bad grain, Bad vegetables, Rats, Mice, Bugs, Maggots. Will have to drive the creatures out or kill them (or both).
Forced to Forage – They are Attacked in the woods by cooperating animals of different species. Good fire-fight.
Vis Hunt
Tracking – They have to follow a path of unnaturally dead plants. They can (12+?) find barkskin boots tracks. Additionally, they can (9+?) find another path of dead foliage leading here?
Competition – An Arabic sorcerer (Massoud al-Fashwah) is headed for the vis source. He will insist it belongs to him. He will not join the order
Giant – The vis source leads to a cave. In the cave lives a giant. The best trick is probably to lure the giant out for Hugh to kill. The Giant is Antaen – he revives over time.
The Dead – Inside the cave are the remains of others who tried the giant. He eats people it would seem. Some items of interest can be found among the corpses. One of the dead may have been a redcap. He carries message for the covenant.
Pile – at the back of the cave is the Giant’s latrine. The dried variety is the same as the Vis Hugh has found.
Festival
The Festival of St. Martain – Boniface is in Perpignan on abbey business, Veritious is in charge. He sets Raymond the task of overseeing the Festival and the Fair that goes with it. Raymond is given little or no resource from Veritious (perhaps 1 lay brother).
Festival and Merchants – Raymond is to collect a tithe from all merchants doing business. He is also to see to it the fair goes smoothly. The people from the covenant are allowed to go to the fair, and, in fact, can get some useful things there.
Nobility – A local lord (Sir Tremain la Valle) insists he get the monies/taxes/tithe from the fair. He has been bullying the merchants, one complains to Raymond. When confronted, he has several men with him. Raymond will need more than one lay brother as backup to handle the Noble.
Events –
Day 1
Klaes gets in a loud and rude argument with Weapons dealer. If accord can be struck, he may be an outlet for Klaes’ work.
There is a wine-seller (and they can stock up and/or make a trade arrangement).
The Noble is confronting Raymond
Day 2
There is a fire (wee hours). Good and organized response will save the fair.
There is a gambler cheating people.
One character is offered a ring with the implication that it is mystical.
There are acts and entertainments. While they go on, a pick-pocket is at work.
Day 3
Some merchants try to pack up and leave without tithing.
They discover (overheard conversation) that the fire was set. The merchants demand that the villain be discovered. (The noble’s men were involved; not really hard to figure out, but difficult to do much about).
The cook’s stuff was destroyed in the fire. She has nowhere to go and no means of support. She would love a job.
One of the people visiting the fair is a mason (with the odd symbology included). He is accused of theft but claims he is innocent. It quickly becomes clear that people don’t like him due to his odd manner (magical air).
Animals
Massoud al-Fashwah – An Arabic sorcerer
All casts are fast and pre-prepared.
Mirror Image – Breaks a mirror and there are suddenly several copies of him.
Breath Stealing – Single target. (Good penetration)
Stamina roll (vs. ease of 9; each point below is how many rounds it takes to regain breath; any exertion before breath is back results in loss of a fatigue level. Cannot speak while breath is gone)
Cutting Cloth – Group. All armor that has any animal products is damaged, possibly destroyed. (soak of armor vs. damage of spell on a die). Damaged armor requires a dex roll to disentangle.
Pains of the Flesh - Group. All Targets are -3 on all actions. This causes griping pains in the bowels, sharp pains in the joints, blinding pain in the head.
Sorceror’s Strike – Single target. Inflicts a medium wound.
Carries 3 pawns of Perdo identical to Inrisors.
Has a vial of an unknown substance (3 points of cnf).
Giant – MM 15
Soak +15
Size +3 (about 15 feet)
Init - -1
Atk - +10
Def - +10
Dam - +15
Not too bright, but very big and strong. Getting hit would be a horrible mistake.
Among the Dead
Redcap is carrying a missive to the covenant. It indicates that the Major Domo has been delayed. It was sent last summer.
A short sword – It does +2 points of damage from razor’s edge.
Sir Tremain

He is a knight.
